Why join us?

If you have ever joined Caroline or Alastair for one of our free Wednesday or Sunday Pooleys Aviation Academy webinars, you will know just how good they both are at supporting your learning and guiding you through the PPL theory material. Now you can benefit from their expertise face-to-face.

The Understanding the Weather and Flying Further Afield Day is carefully structured to focus on Practical Meteorology and Navigation to enhance your PPL theory and practical application of using that knowledge to navigate safely. We will be exploring the wealth of weather information available to the pilot in the UK as well as for those aiming to navigate to destinations further afield within Europe.

We will include practical sessions that explore the information available with the aim of helping participants to be able to make correct go / no-go decisions with a full understanding of the implications of the weather as well as practically understanding a developing weather situation whilst flying. Bespoke materials have been created for the day so that we can present a range of scenarios for everyone to work through.

The day should help you develop essential decision-making skills.

We look forward to meeting you and supporting your journey in aviation!

Feedback from our last in-person event:

"Really, really, really helpful. Perfectly explained and not at all "too simple.
